A few weeks ago I happened to ride past a warehouse looking building and couldn't help but notice a trailer full of old bikes parked in front of it. I turned back around to get a closer look and I noticed a number of bike frames piled up in a heap along with quite a few wheels. This made me a bit curious so every three or four days I ride past and there sometimes is a trailer full of old bikes and sometimes not. Keep in mind these bikes are in pretty bad shape. I suspect they are parting them out and selling the rest as scrap.

    Well tonight I see this:

I sure hope these don't have an unpleasant fate.

Can you find out what their for? For the right price I would definitely drive all the way to Appleton to pick one of those up.

I've really never been a Honda person but the 700 Nighthawk is one Honda that I have always liked. Never had the opportunity to ride one though.

I sure hope so fiveofakind. All the other bikes I've seen there have been true trailer queens.

A breakers yard. He's got a ton of XJ bits on his EBAY site. Highly unlikely he will sell you a complete bike.

This would confirm the fate of those bikes. Such a shame. :(

If it weren't for guys like that I wouldn't have stock mufflers on TWO 550 Secas. For all we know the Turbo never had its valves touched and had cooked a few. But yeah, it's always a shame to see a restorable example parted out.

I corresponded with them a bit on FB and the 'good' bikes they part out don't have titles and/or are damaged in some way. They are a good bunch.

Either way as Fitz pointed out there must be some sacrifices made to keep the rest of us with good quality 30 year old parts even though it is a bit painful to watch. :(

Yep, the blue one, the yellow one, the white one.................any of the ones that say Honda on them. You can also spot honda parts by looking for the Honda wing with HM in the bottom part of the emblem.
