was riding home yesterday and i felt a very blatant difference in my bike as it felt like it was wavy so i got home and put it up thinking maybe it just felt that way because I've never rode at night and took it out again today and yep wavy when i pulled in my driveway and turned it off i turned the handlebars and heard a metal scrape sound (its not bad at all sounding) and theres no clunkyness when turning them side to side. so im wondering do they need re-greased, tightened, or replaced?

I would replace them. There is probably a thread telling/showing you how to do it on this site.

you won't feel the notch with the front wheel on the ground, get it off the ground and try again.

investigate the scraping sound then check the air pressure in the tires, that will give you a wavy feeling for sure

it's definitely coming from the steering column itself no doubt. and only does it within oh id say 25 degrees of a turn both ways. ill check my tires for sure. but im pretty certain its coming from the steering column so idk if they just need repacked cause if thats the case i may as well just replace them

tires are in PSI spec. forks are 9lbs ish. still getting that wavy feel and now it's developed into a squeak kinda and i guess i can describe the sound before a noticeable squeak sounded like if you swish air in your mouth

    Park it.

Order new head bearings (OEM or tapered rollers, your choice).

    Replace.

    Grease.

    Adjust.

    Ride safe.

Assume that no maintenance was ever done by any PO: you'll live longer and have a reliable motorcycle.

I'd also replace the wheel bearings while the front end is off.
