I'm in the process of purchasing another 81 550 SECA. Not a sure thing yet so this post is only a feeler. Will sell my current titled 81 XJ550 SECA for $500.00 o.b.o. or part it out if nobody is interested in the whole bike. The bike is almost (missing fairing, side covers) complete but haven't tried to fire it up since I purchased in February. Comes with the tail fin and tank. The tank however was rusted and has holes in it. I was in the process of cleaning it inside and out and then having repaired. Tank is stripped to the metal the tail is painted but needs repainting. I was in the process of reupholstering the seat with a brand new cover I ordered. This was a long term project for me so I haven't been in much of rush. I spent $180.00 just getting this thing titled. Anyhow, don't want to waste anybody's time. But if you are interested in the complete bike or would just like to inquire about parts in advance, let me know. I will update this post Monday with the final status. Won't sell if I can't buy the other bike. On the other hand, would need the money from selling this one in order to purchase the other one. That is the arrangement I was able to make with my wife, LOL.

Looks like its official, I will be picking up my other SECA today. So if any body is interested in this bike or in parts, it is now available. I will also post it on Craigslist. Would like it if someone can buy her whole and get her back on the road. P.O. said it runs. Otherwise I will post parts on eBay and see how that goes. I think I will spend some time and try firing it up this week and get a video clip of it running. That should add to the marketability.

Maxims all have swirly wheels. Seca 550s don't.

The engine cases, fork lowers, shocks and exhaust system have been polished up and the bike looks pretty clean at a glance. But the frame does need repainting. Tank is stripped inside out but has holes and needs to repaired. Tank and body work need repainting among other bits and pieces on the bike.

Its 81 SECA. The original exhaust must have rusted and the P.O. installed Maxim tail pieces. The bike is complete but no side covers, mirrors or battery. I do have a left side cover which I need to repair. Plan on doing so in order to gain some experience. I will post more pictures. Bike has a Florida title.

I will post pictures of the new bike of course. Its a nice clean 82. I'm almost tempted to scavenge the new 82 bike, which runs and looks good, to get the 81 running. I prefer the 81 in general.
