    I'm guessing:

    1) Number Plate Mount
    2) Rear Mud Guard.
    3) Emissions disabled
    4) Turn Signals too small -- Not regulation distance.

    Close?

(Those would be Massachusetts Violations -- Signal Lights receiving a Citation and Fine. Number Plate unreadable causing possible impound.)

Yep not bad Rick, surprised though, to me it looks like you guys [US] can get away with just about anything compared to us.No front brakes, open exhausts no turn signals just about any of the bobbers I see on here would get you stopped and on a trailer if you were lucky.
But I guess it varies from state to state eh?

When I lived in Ohio, there was no inspection on vehicles (still isn't). My old truck had massive rust holes throughout. I hit a deer with it at 55mph and drove around for 3 days without a grille, a bent bumper, and only 1 headlight intact, cops never said a word. Car inspection in Ohio, if you bring a vehicle into the state from another and register it to Ohio they walk around it and make sure no major body parts are dangerously hanging off.

A close friend and riding buddy recently bought a V-twin Yamaha Star.

He did an Exhaust Mod which made the Bike "Straight Piped".

He got stopped and cited for "Excessive Noise" by a State Trooper assigned to DOT Enforcement.
He had a device that measures the loudness of the Bike.
Along with the Ticket he got a Hand-out for making the Bike compliant.

Motorcycle Exhaust Noise RMV / DOT Requirement:

You must have a baffle in the exhaust system of a motorcycle.
    Straight pipes are illegal.
Your motorcycle must meet certain noise requirements.
For motorcycles manufactured before 1986; 102 decibels is the legal limit.
99 decibels for motorcycles manufactured after 1986.
The DOT Inspector measured the Noise Volume of his Straight Pipes at 105 Decibels.

Here's the List of what must PASS Inspection inn Massashusetts:
What do they inspect on your motorcycle?

    VIN Number/Registration/License Plates
    Tire and Wheels/Wheel Bearings
    Axle Clamps/Cotter Pins
    Brake Operation/Condition
    Steering Head Bearings/Stops
    Handlebars/Fork Tubes/Cables
    Frame/Body/Fenders
    Controls/Mirrors/Horn
    Headlights/Headlight Aim
    Turn Signals/4-Way Flashers
Tail Lamps/Brake Lights/ other Lighting Devices
    Seating/Footrests
    Fuel System/Engine/Battery/Exhaust/Excessive Noise
    Swingarm/Shocks
    Chain/Sprockets/Guard
    Windshield/Cowling (if applicable)
    Safety Bars/Luggage Racks
    Sidecar (if applicable)
License Plate Visibility / No Frame on Plate / No Photo Evading Device.

Ohio has no inspection when transferring in-state. An out of state transfer requires a VIN check and the OSP runs a 20 year lost/stolen/insurance claim check.

All bets are off on a home built or salvage re title. They want receipts and bill of sale for every part and if anything fails, any one single piece comes up as lost/stolen or insurance claimed, you loose the bike.

Thats a tidy sum for some fairly basic mods. Does look nice though!

It doesn't look like it's run much since the pods were installed. (They're pristine.)

I suspect a "trailer queen" that never really got set up properly for the mods. It probably isn't "roadworthy." Just pretty.

I didn't say anything about safety (this time) it has spiffy (sexy even) brakes.

I suspect it probably doesn't RUN all that well.

    I suspect bigfitz is right.
And just because it sold for that much doesn't mean that much money will actually change hands.
I am pretty sure most of these so called 'featured' bikes don't run very well if at all.My major objection to most of them, built to look at not to ride just seems like a waste of time, energy and a perfectly good motorcycle.
But then occasionally there is the one that gets ridden regularly and looks good as well.
