First off Iv gotta thank everyone on this site. I have been looking around and finding a lot of helpful stuff. I picked up a 83 xj750 cheap with big plans. After reading on the site I decided to open up the motor and inspect. First thing I find is the cylinders are burned up but everything else seems to look good so far. So far my cheapest fix is this big bore kit I found on eBay

Anyone know anything about them? Good bad. Is boring that big bad? Iv been reading the big bore kits are hard to find and expensive so this seems to good to be true

I bought a big bore headgasket from that seller, no problems at all.

At that price I would go for it, but just find a place that will bore the barrels for you first.

My brother inlaw builds hot rods and works at a shop that part I have covered. I hate asking him a ton of questions. Thanks

Have you Bored the cylinders? More important is the bike running now?
What piston cylinder clearances did you use? I just bought the big bore kit myself but the machine shop says they need the clearances to bore it.
