Finished up my MSF Basic Rider Course and passed, would have my endorsement but the DMV was packed and it was 5 hours past when I go to sleep and didnt want a cherry red sunburnt face in my new picture. Crazy Delaware weather had it 91 degrees with a heat index of over 100....wearing leather gloves, a long sleeve shirt, jeans, and my full face. Killed a gallon of water and my head still hurt at the end of the day. Now to get the X running and safe.

    Congrats!

Takes a full year to get a riding license here!

    -12hr of road safety class
-Multiple choice test - apprentice license
-20hrs of riding courses on a closed circuit
-Closed circuit riding test - learners permit (able to drive accompanied by someone with minimum 2yrs riding experience)
-11 months later you can do your road test and receive your full permit.

I've got my learners and will be able to do the road test next summer.

Honestly, I kinda wish it took longer here too, regardless of age. There's little road experience needed to get your full license in the US, and I see people out there who are very raw and timid, they need more time to get confident (and therefore be safe).

Agreed, not a complaint on my end...

I was certainly a little timid on my first ride, thankfully I had friends front and back!

"Timid driver" is that what you call the people who start off at a green light with there feet dangling down towards the pavement and don't put them on the pegs until they are going 15 mph?

    Congratulations on passing! :D

It's very similar here in Australia, if you have a full car licence, you pay $375 aus dollars and sit a course which lasts for 3 1/2 hours on two consecutive weekends, that's just to get your learners.
After that you can pay and sit your advanced course ($345 buck later) when ever you like or are confident. You will restricted on capacity for one full year after the completion of your advanced course. Then you still have to pay for the licence itself, so by the time your all done a $1000 buck or close to has left your pocket.

Easy in Georgia. All you need is a valid driver's license, take a short multiple choice test, and a fairly simple riding test. However, they do have courses for those that want or need to take them. Two weekends and about $250 I think.

Thank you, and I know I need to get used to riding, my biggest issue was being too tense. But when I do get it rubbing there's an old abandoned mall with a massive parking lot 5 minutes down the road I plan on abusing.
