Hi all, I am after a definitive answer to my problems with the turn signal relay on my XY 650. I have read most of the forums but still need some questions answered. Obviously I have replaved the lights with a lower wattage incadescent globe but it is 35 mm and I can't find a replacement globe at that size and 27 watts. So....
1/. is it easier / better to change the relay or introduce a resistor. If it's the resistor what kind (not asking for size) do you need???
2/. If you replace the relay do you need to do anything to the auto-cancel unit??? I know it wont work if you change the relay.
    Thanks,
Sorry for being a pain - I know this topic has been discussed before but I couldn't find the exact answers I needed.

Number one thing NOT to do to the auto-cancel unit: throw it away.

They're worth their weight in gold. If you eliminate it, hang onto it or sell it for a reasonable price.

It's probably easier to just change the relay to a solid-state one that doesn't rely on current draw to flash. I'm betting that one that works with unmodded LEDs will work; check out this thread: http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=44606.html

Unplug it and slip it off its mounting tab and store it in a cool dry place.
