I think I'm in trouble now...

    Uh-oh...

So I picked up this XJ750 about a month ago, with the intention of getting it running well (after reading basically this entire site convinced me that I could). I think it just needs a good carb clean/tune/sync; at least that's the first step. It runs, but not well (sat for an unknown number of years before the PO picked it up.)

I haven't been worried about rushing the job, since I don't have my motorcycle endorsement yet, and can't ride it legally anyway. Besides, there are other projects I wanted to finish first, since I knew full well that once the bike was done, I'd be riding, not working around the house... 8)

So here's my problem. Last weekend I was able to get into a local MSF course as a walk-in (unexpectedly; here in Illinois the state-run classes are free, and taking the class waives the written and driving exam requirements. Demand is, as you'd imagine, high. I sent in my registration via Priority mail on the day the 2007 schedule came out, and was only able to get a standby date at the end of the summer).

So here's my problem. I'm now getting a chance to ride a bit (they provide bikes for the BRC) and finding out that riding is highly addictive, even more so than I'd thought. On top of that, I'll have my license a good two months earlier than I expected, and my bike still isn't ready!

Sounds like the priorities of your projects just changed!

It appears that you know what needs done. Just a matter of getting to it.

The solution is simple - give up sleeping!

Work during the day, home projects during the wifes "waking hours" and the rest of the day to yourself.

It works great but when you start seeing giant bugs drinking coffee - call in sick for work.

    :)

Yea, sleeping is over rated. You can sleep when you die. Thats how I look at it.
I work on mine when all have gone to bed. 10:30pm to when ever then up at 5:30 to go to work. By the weekend I am beat and sleep in till 7:30 or 8:00am

    Hey SamSr,
    I'm in the same boat.
I completed the Motorcycle course 3 weeks ago and should be getting my license any day now, my bike is all over the garage floor, and my wife is telling me to stop buying parts for it because it was suppose to be a year long project.
My plan was to get my V45 Magna back from the frigging Honda dealer, it’s been 3 weeks and they keep giving me the run-a-round. I’m thinking I could be without a bike this year.

Yep.....you're in trouble now!!! Fraps has the only cure but he forgot the main perk. You can host a carb clinic at your house and get some experienced help for the cost of some burgers and beer!
