Progressive springs in front. Lowered an inch. Galpher ss lines for front, rear, and clutch. Hayabusa 6 pot calipers with r1 wave rotors. This thing handles 100x better and stops on a dime. The vmax mc is actually LARGER than the Hayabusa one it displaces more fluid therefore even more stopping power.

1 and 2 finger breaking power. Next is the exhaust. Starting to rust.

Thank you! Its a thousand times better and the progressive springs eliminated the brake dive.

Ill have to look into them. Its got a kereker k series and thats what its jetted for. But theyre like $1,000.00 so thats a turn off.

Looks like the same header i had on mine except mine was stainless. I think i might still have a few different sized baffles if you need any. They really change the sound. When the dynoed mine they ended up with the largest core baffle sounded sweet but very loud. Here is a link to how mine idled http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/79500 ... sort=6&o=0

Big money for the exhaust systems that's for sure. You may want to check into doing a professional ceramic coating on the one you have. Probably be about 1/4 the cost of a new system.

Here's a video of the exhaust on my X:

I chose the silver (completes the power path theme). However, they do have an option of a black finish if that's what you prefer.

Hard to find for an x. My x i bought a used header 25 bucks that needed a canister bought the can brand new on ebay 25 bucks changed inlet cap and set it at the height that looks right on the bike. $50 bucks total plus my time was not bad.

    Holy crap that sounds beautiful.

From the vmax exhaust it makes me think mine may not have a baffel at all. Ill upload a video tonight. Let me know what you guys think. My maxim x is only collector box no muffler. I have a mac 4-1 but didnt like the sound. My oem got bent in a wreck. I like the sound but gey some pop on decel.

I saw them and always liked one. Was able to pic mine up for DIRT cheap with some performance goodies already on it.

You will like it . Immediate power almost everywhere. I can be doing 75mph in 5th at 4500 rpm just barelh roll on it to pass a semi and be in tripple digits its very stable. Ive had my maxim x faster but i have a small windshield i could tuck behind on it. On the vmax my helmet tucked to the gauges its pretty similar.

You should probably try to find some aftermarket shorties for your X. It will help with the popping by adding some back-pressure.

I've entertained getting a V-Max, but figured the X is plenty fast, and satisfies my craving for WOT fun without having too much power between my legs.

That kind of looks like Harley's out-of-the-box drag bike. I saw one this weekend at the track and it was bad ass

Let me know if that works. I think its kinda distorted from the volume and my crappy phone mic.

I should look into that for the maxim x.

And thanks man! I had it inspected at a Harley dealer when getting it plated. He asked what i bought it for. I said around 1k. He said yeah not everyone can afford a Harley. I responded.... yeah but i havent lost to one yet.

He laughed said true and signed my paper work.

Sure does sound distorted, and (from what my trained ear is telling me) my guess would be that the muffler has no fiberglass packing. No doubt you get a lot of attention with that bike.

That was my thought it is really loud and mean. Ive actually had cops compliment it so nobad attention yet. I can say its my favorite bike ive gotten to try. Im contemplating getting.a go pro to have some showcase of what it and the maxim x are.

By the way hondahack easily the sexiest maxim x i have seen is the one in your videos. Very very cool. Much nicer than mine. Mine is bullet proof has had all of the maint. done but not nearly as pretty.

Glad you like it. Did you see the latest one showing the exhaust and new paint?:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBv3ZrHzjXg
I took out the baffle to see how it would sound....way too loud!

I now have the baffle in, but took out all the packing and sounds just right to me. One of these days I'll get a GoPro as well and provide some cool videos for all to enjoy.

I've actually been looking into converting the rear brakes to a disk using VMax components. Not sure if it can be done? The biggest challenge I see is having to weld a bracket on the frame to support the rear master cylinder.
I've gotta say, Yamaha should have upgraded the X with a rear disk from the factory, being that it's such a fast machine.

Won a $500.00 best buy gift card at work in a Sales contest. So I got myself a Gopro Hero 3 black+ some videos/better pictures to follow shortly. I've only got to test it at night... But already pretty impressed.

    Lucky you, that's awesome!

From what I understand, the best video sound quality can be obtained by setting up a remote microphone near the rear light or license plate area.
Doing something like that will take some trial and error to see what works best.

    Be safe out there.

Alright guys clutch mc started leaking out of plunger first cold weather ride. Rebuilding the mc tonight. My idea.. can i rag the fluid out of the mc, disconect that banjo and tie it up so i dont have to empty the whole system? I did ss lines so its got new fluid. I plan on fully bleeding it as well. Also some type of a sealant i can use around the diaphram? Just to make sure it doesnt leak from up top at all.

You won't be able to use any sealant on the diaphragm, just clean it up with an old toothbrush in some warm soapy water. Make sure there's no cracks or holes in it. Also, make sure the top lip where it seats on the MC is clean too, and it'll seal up fine.

When you disconnect the line, you'll have to start all over bleeding the whole system just to be sure there's no air trapped. Make sure you use new copper sealing washers because they're spent after you use them, and can't be trusted to provide a seal again.

Local Auto Parts stores should have them. Just bring a banjo bolt and an old washer to make sure you get the correct size.

Also, take over the microphone to cut down on wind noise is good for recording/sound quality
