I just bought a 1981 Midnight Maxim650. Bikes in very good shape with 8k miles. I plan on doing a mild cafe conversion with new seat, tank and bars. I'm thinking of selling the above parts or should I keep to return bike to stock if I ever decide to sell. Seat is excellent but tank has some rust but not too bad. I'd appreciate any feedback/opinions on this since I'm new to forum and xj650 ownership!

    Thanks!

I'd keep the parts for a possible resale.

Second that. Never know what you might need to reuse a little further down the line.

It makes sense to hang on to the stock parts until you are happy with the final outcome.
