Hi I just bought a 82 Yamaha seca 750. I'm doing my fisrt bobber project. This project will be done entirly by me exct motor. All fab work and customizing will be done by yours truly. I have already stripped down the bike n am about to hardtail it but I'm juggling a couple ideas on how I'm gonna do it. I have removed the gauge cluster n the ugly square double head light. Redid some wiring thanks to this site:) I just picked up some HD sportster forward controls and am fabbing them up right now. I also am swapping out the original tank with a fatboy tank to gain some leg room. I would love to know what u think and input is always appreciated I have a crazy mind so this is gonna be fun. Let the game begin! I tried posting pics but it says all pics r to large.

Welcome to the addiction! :) You'll find if you upload your pics to photobucket.com & then paste the IMG tags into your post here they'll show at the perfect size...

I'm pretty savy in the fab world but curious how crazy of a swap is it. Ill do the photo bucket thing n get some pics up.

The trick to the photobucket image links is to click the link near the bottom on the right hand side that says image code (should have IMG in brackets) and paste it here. That line of text has the appropriate tags to both put the image in your post and make it an active link to the photo bucket page.

    Hope that helps

Lookin like a good start. A GSXR front end would look awesome. The maxim tank looks good, that's what I have, or my second choice would be a harly sportster tank. Similar to the typical "Peanut" tank on bobbers, but doesn't look as silly.

This is my bobber build currently. this might give you an idea of what you like and don't like, lol

That is a sweet build Heyitsme! Do you have a build thread? I have some questions and I don't want to hijack JBA_78's thread.

Heyitsme I am actually getting rid of the seca tank. I just picked up a used fatboy tank today so now I get to fit it to the bike. What size rear tire did u go to? I want to go wider but doesn't look like I have much room to do much.

Navigating around this site is a PITA, so I use another forum for my build thread, which is in my sig. Can you view it? I never found out whether people on this site could access it..
You cam always PM me questions, too.

JBA 78 - Thanks, I appreciate it. Good choice getting rid of that tank. To post pics, just click on the "IMG CODE" that is on the right side of the picture, on photobucket. Then paste it straight into the text box here.

Oh and I went with a 140- ?-16 tire. I forgot how tall it is.. I just know its 140 wide. I would have gone 150, but I don't know how wide the rear wheel is, and how big of tire it could safely handle. That would also require grinding down some of the swing arm/shaft.
