Hello, from a new member in Cardiff

    Hi Guys,

    Just wanted to introduce myself. My Name's Ian I live in Cardiff, South Wales. I've hit some rough times at the minute and a mate of mine donated a couple of his old bikes that were gathering dust & rust in his back yard. One of them is an XJ550 Maxim, imported from the USA.

    I'll be restoring it over the next few months, but with my own personal touch. I've been looking at the site over the last few days while I was waiting for my application to be accepted and have already picked up some good ideas.

    In terms of the bike itself, it's in pretty good order, engine turns over nicely, electrics seem to work and only surface rust, as far as I can see, no pathes of rust that need welding.

    I've got a pretty good mechanical knowledge and was studying motorcycle mechanics at college until my old bike went to the big scrapyard in the sky. So I dearsay I will be calling on your combined, vast experience at some point, so thank for that in advance :)

    So, that's me sorry for the long post :)

    I've got it Sorted,Football Refereeing in the Winter feeds my Ebay addiction for XJ parts, Summertime I'm tearing up tarmac in East Yorkshire. 8)
