Has anybody used any of the aftermarket throttle controls or throttle hand rests that act like a cruse control when on long flat rides . I do some longish rides like this occasionally and get some fatigue in my throttle hand after a while. So I am thinking of getting something like this.

Yes, I now swear by the crampbuster

I had looked at these for a couple years, then got one for last summers road trip. As good as they describe, and I leave it on all the time.

When you get it to the perfect spot its there when you want it, and you don't even notice it otherwise.

Concur with Dan, I use that also. Basically you can hold the throttle with your palm, couple of fingers, etc, rather than having to wrap your fingers around it and hold. Saves my wrist on long rides, and easy to release and grab the bar if necessary.

I have the crampbuster as well and recommend it. I've used mine for several seasons and find it naturally sitting under my palm which alleviates gripping the handle for long periods of time. Plus you can adjust it however you may need - turn it just to get it out of the way for a period of time if you wanted.

Just got a crampbuster for free from a guy at a wrecking yard. He said he got them though a promotion and whoever asks about them can have one. They had a lot of dust on 'em. That being said, they do make a world of difference. on long rides.

The other part of the story is "free" means $70 for an oil cooler and adapter plate...

Back in the day the twist grip had an adjustment screw that would stop the throttle springing back. I remember a guy in our street on his Golden Ariel Arrow, pulling on his gloves while tooling up the road.

I was at a junkyard picking up the cooler anyway, and asked about the crampbuster, so he threw it in with the purchase. Not exactly free in the purest sense...
