Is it true that it is very hard to come by after market wheels that will fit the 1982 Maxim? I was told by the previous owner of my bike that wheels are hard to find that will fit? I have been looking at a lot of you guys' pics and I see no after market wheels. Aer they out there and were can I find some?

You can get them but there is nothing cheap about it. Most are made to order.

Anyone have a link to a trusted site that retails wheels for these things?

In my 15+ years of XJ ownership, I've NEVER seen an aftermarket wheel on an XJ.

Oh I'm sure it's possible.... but it'll cost more than the value of the bike.... likely a LOT more....

I would say if its important to you it might be a fun quest but i would be on board with the nay sayers who would say your looking at paying more than the bikes value just for wheels...ive got a buddy with a chromed out HD and he has a set of those real nice custom lazer cut flame wheels and they cost over $5000.... we rib him about it constantly, i know thats an extreme but rims arent cheap, to me im glad to just have mags for tubeless tires to facilitate a easy on the road flat fix.
