Fork Oil

    What should I use for Fork oil?

    I replaced my seals last year and just got my fork oil from a Yamaha dealer. I can't exactly remember what I paid for it, but it wasn't very expensive. I believe it is 10 weight. Depending how stiff you want you front suspension, you can go to a heavier weight if you want it stiffer.

    I've used 10W30 regular oil, 20W50 and now I'm using 80W90.

    I'd stick to 15 weight of a reputable brand of fork oil. Motor oil is not the same in terms of chemical suspension blend. I would be VERY leery of using motor or gear oil.
