    Hi,

Can someone tell me what the recommended Spark plug gap is for an XJ1100? And what the recommended Spark Plug model is for Iridium type plugs for this same bike.

If you decide to go with the iridium spark plugs, don't try to gap them.

They are pre-gapped and it is very easy to bend the tiny electrode on them. Don't even put a plug gapper in there.

    Good advice, Jim, with exceptions...
First, the center electrode won't bend, it will snap like a tiny dry twig because the material is so brittle.
Second, Manufacturers suggest not to gap these plugs because they are so fragile - and "pre-gapped". But, resellers admit that they themselves do gap their plugs - just very carefully.
Third, many end users of these plugs like to over-gap them because they really throw a good spark, especially if aftermarket coils are installed.

If you must gap Iridium plugs, here's the right way to do it:

    Be careful.

Thanks again guys... I'm going to go with the Iridium plugs for a change.
