Blind Bearing on Generator Shaft

    How to remove this bearing? I appears to be on the list of things ultimately damaged by the water in my engine. I cannot get my slide hammer behind it. Any other tricks?

    I've done that to get a blind bearing but using grease instead of bread

    How did you keep the pressure on the grease? Seems to me it would squeeze out through the center. I've done that to move a piston out of a stuck cylinder, but it requires sealing every possible seam where the grease could push out and lose pressure.

    It was a long time ago but I think we had a round drift pretty much the same ID as the bearing and just smacked it in with a hammer

    why don't you clean the shaft and bearing, put some RED loctite on the shaft, slide it back in the bearing, go have dinner, come back and pull it out

    And then heat the shaft and bearing to 500ºF for removal. It'll work, but seems a bit more of a bother.
