Get a 750. There have been plenty if discussions in this forum about out-engineer Yamaha and there best thing you can do is keep your engine well maintained. IF you want more ponies get a bigger one.

4-1 exhaust and rejetting. Also lighten the bike as much as possible. Don't forget that YOU count as weight also. Go on a diet if needed.

Colin Chapman said "more horsepower makes you faster on the straights, less weight makes you faster everywhere". That may not be 100%accurate but mostly. Colin Chapman of Lotus fame... He said it about cars but it applies to bikes as well.

Add a turbo from one of the seca models - or just do a full engine swap with a turbo-ed engine. A bigger engine while you're at it. Really it just depends on what you want to do and how big your budget is.

Don't consider this. Turbo Seca Bottom end it beefed up for the extra boost, and it's compression ratio is dropped. Not to mention all of the knock sensor, different TCI, fuel pump, pressurized one-of-a-kind carbs, etc.
