Hi everyone, i wanted to ask if the the front suspension "air feeder" or something else it would be called can be removed to install the clip on handle bars. How can that be removed? I have never removed the front forks so i have no knowledge of how the thing works. can the air feeding point be removed?
    Thanks.

Oh thank you so much. Just wanted to know if the shocks would leak oil if i removed it. also does the whore "air adjustable" component screws off the shocks or are there any bolts. Can the bike be ridden without those?
    Thanks!

you s/b able to replace the caps with '80-'81 caps which are not air assisted and adjust the fork oil for not having the air factor. i think.

Sorry for the asking the same question numerous times. :/

What bike? rocs82650, this guy is from Napal, so the market there is very different and you can't assume it's a 650 maxim.

For instance, my 750 seca and Turbo seca both have air assisted forks, and the inner fork tubes do have holes drilled in them such that not sealing them off would result in oil leakage, oil contamination, and a different ride profile (the air pressure inside acts as a progressive spring. The air valves fit over these holes and are air tight by way of two orings in the air valves.

Prabesh07, post a picture of the air valve in question. If it's anything like the air valves I've seen, they slip on over the top of the fork, and are held in place on the bottom by a small circlip, and on the top by the triple tree. If there is a hole in the fork it will need to be covered, so you will not be able to clip over them unless the clip-ons are air tight.

Really need to know what bike!

The 82 750 maxim has the cross over style air assist as described by manbot on the seca, but the 83 750 maxim, and 82-83 650 maxim use seperate air valves in each fork leg.

not assuming anything. I asked which bike and is it a '82 650. you're correct in that napal bikes may be different. thanks ghost for clarifying this.

These XJ's we have in Nepal were ex-policeman bikes. There are some still alive. I too bought this gem to restore it. but since I lack I can't find all the parts around here to restore it, im doing a cafe mod.
    These are the pics:

I just need to know how those air adjustment valves can be removed so that i can slide the clip ons and put it back on.

That would be the crossover style air assist of the 81-83 750 Seca, and 82 750 Maxim. Only the Seca was used as a police bike.

As manbot noted earlier. Those fork tubes have holes in the sides to work with the air joints. The air joints can not be removed permanently.

You can however place the clip-ons below those air joints. This would be a simple mater of removing the top crown, and sliding the air joints up off the forks.

Bazzinga! Thanks for the help man. I'm going to try it tomorrow. This is my project bike i started after my highschool. So, you can guess how much of a noobie I really am haha :D
Also, if it wouldnt be a problem. I would like to ask you if the bike can be ran with out the stock speedo on the bike. I want to make it look clean and install an aftermarket one. Can I remove the stock one and attach the another with the speedo cable and still run fine or do i have to make any adjustments?
THanks again, and again for another questions in advance. :D
