She hasn't told me her name yet, but here is my new-to-me 94 Goldwing Interstate. She has a few minor blemishes being 20 years old, but she runs and pulls strong.

I've already ordered some maintenance, replacement and lighting improvement parts. Excess chrome is not my style, but additional stock-looking lights are :)

Now I have to figure out if I'm going to un-bagger my Maxim or leave as is once it's road worthy again...

NOTE: I think I was always driving towards a Wing someday. After all I Vetter-ized my Maxim and road our Burgman 400 which is just as smooth and has lots of storage built-in. At least with a Wing the wife can finally be comfy on the back :)

I was considering the doing the same thing, but I realized that my XJ is just not a cross country bike, so I don't want to have all kinds of storage bolted to it.

I think you made the right choice, and if I were you, take everything off of your XJ and just enjoy it.

The XJ COULD be a cross country bike, but not with the stock foam seats and MID-SIZED Americans sitting on it 2up.

As far as all the storage, I'm not sure how much I'm going to take off yet.

I really do like the LOOK of the Vetter pieces and the custom pin-striping and decals/emblems I added to them.

Those saddlebag pop off quickly with a turn of a key. The trunk is hard mounted. The fairing is only 4 bolts, it's bracket and replacing the stock (or round) headlight assembly, turn signals and plastic fork emblem - not as simple/quick as it sounds at first.

Additionally, the fairing has my $300 dollar LED headlight in it... I'd want to convert to round style headlight housing to keep it in use. :)

I also have a smaller Vetter Quicksilver fairing installed on my parts bike, alas it has a rectangular headlight.

Maybe I'll just have to get that parts bike running - I think all it REALLY needed (to run) when I bought it was the carbs torn apart and everything associated with that. But now it has sat around for another 3+ years not running...

OH well, nothing wrong with 2 project XJ bikes right?

I barely fit 3 bikes, riding mower, mower, grill, snow blower, etc and 2 cars into our 3 car garage over the winter.

At the moment 2 of 3 cars are outside for the warm seasons.

Winter organizing and packing will be interesting.

    EDIT:

FYI: A fridge and stand up freezer in front of 1 car and wall of shelves/tools/storage in front of other 2 spots so I can only store in the middle section with carefully placement. Harbor Freights motorcycle dollies help. I only have 2 so far.
