I have a 1983 750 maxim and racked my brains out try to found out why it has no spark. It ran fine 2 weeks ago. Eliminating the easy stuff like cleaning contacts and the safety switches, I put the tci from my seca, that runs in the maxim. Fired right up. I thought the tci in the maxim would be OK. It only has 11,000 miles on it but sat 20 yrs. in a garage.
Does anybody know where to get one? I don't really want a used one, never know how long a used one will last.

I know of an NOS source that has plenty of them in stock. For $785.45 each.

Yamaha pn 5G2-82305-10-00. Common to the '81 ~'83 750s, both Seca and Max; and the YICS 650s. Bunches on eBay.

You can buy 8 used ones for the price of a new one...

    Did you ask chacal?

Even if you get a used one you should open the one you have just to be sure that the problem isn't a bad solder joint, or a lifted trace. Both are common failure points on older PCBs, and easy to repair.

Also try this out fit http://www.ignitech.cz/en/ Yes they are in the Chec Republic. BUT there TCI's are top notch stuff. Those of us who own Yamaha Venture Royal's use them exclusively. If you do not see your bike listed email them with your bike information.

They are on that list I compiled. ;)

Also, I got a TCI from them in my Seca 550 now.
