    I filled the tank and left the petcoc on prime all night this morning I had my very own crankcase full of gas xj700n

    go with the brass float seats and needles. Chacal has them. Work great in my bike and no rubber to go bad.

    Sounds good this is probly over the 10th time I've had to pull the carbs

    Leaving the petcock on PRI is a test. Your float valves failed.

    You know they've passed when you can accidentally leave it on PRI for A WEEK and nothing bad happens. (It's a good feeling, too.)

    Now you get to learn yet another skill.

    I put 20w50 valvoline regular motorcycle oil in it and I haven't heard the starter grinding sound yett but I'm not gonna speak too soon

    How does the gas get to the crankcase from the carbs (I know my float seals failed) what path does it follow

    Leaky petcock, leaky float needle, bowls fill, overflow into cyl chamber, leaks down past rings, fills crank case.....

    Right. When the bowls fill too much, fuel percolates up out of the floor of the carb through the small gap between the main jet and the jet needle. And from there it runs into the cylinders.
