Major help needed....can anyone tell me how you get the rear engine mounting bolt out of the engine mounts..???? I'm rebuilding my 550 maxim and am in the process of stripping it down to the bare frame and this bolt is a nightmare...when I try to undo it it's turning and not coming out yet when I try to tighten it it just turns and doesn't get tight....!!! I'm stumped as what the heck is goin on,,,,,!!€$¥ so any ideas would be gratefully received.... 8O

Is the weight off of the bolt? Once the nut is off (seems like yours has been missing for a while). Then the bolt should be able to be pushed out. Turning it won't do anything because ther are no threads for it to engage other than those on the missing nut.

That rear bolt is the main connection between the engine and the frame, so don't pull it out until the engine is fully supported by something other than the frame.

Excellent news. Upon reassembly be sure to coat the shoulder of that bolt with grease, and use loctite on the threads so the nut doesn't corrode to the threads.
