Do 650 and 750 Maxim rear shocks interchange?

Yes - Seca's too. One lower eyelet is larger than the other.

Next Q; If I understand it right, XJ750's have covered springs?

There were two shock options depending on which 750 you're talking about: exposed springs with adjustable rebound damping and ramp adjusted preload, or covered springs with air-adjustable preload. Both will interchange.

Once again, k-moe to the rescue!

How hard/easy is it to fit the air springs to a 650?

You may need to replace the core, but rears aren't as complex as front forks, so they should work just fine.

If they were front forks they would require the replacement of some bits.

My 82 maxim had covered springs and were rebound, preload type.
