Headlight bulb

For an 83 maxim 750 j is there anyone out there that has changed the bulb to somthing brighter and a little whiter rather than changing to a complete different system? If so what is the part number or name of the bulb? I do a lot of highway at midnight and I would like somthing a little brighter and whiter than what's in there now but I don't want to start changing to led or anything

 

I changed my Standard Bulb to a Sylvania SilverStar.

I also modified the adjuster at the bottom of the Bucket to allow for a few degrees more elevation.

I filed the Channel a bit and changed the Locking Bolt to one of a smaller diameter.

I had mentioned a similar desire, and Polock had PMed me suggesting that I try replacing the headlight wiring with a thicker gauge. The stock wiring is just long and thin enough to induce some voltage drop. He also sent me a link to some documentation highlighting (no pun intended) just how much brightness is lost when your voltage drops even a touch.

Ya I have noticed a huge dimming when the bike is below 2000 rpm and the brake or signal lights are on of course cause the batt isn't charging untill higher than 2000 rpms. Thanks ,that I will try
