xj 550 ignition coil on a xj650

    Will an ignition coil from an 83 550 work on an 82 maxim 650? The reason I ask is because I lost a coil on my 650 and need a replacement.

    Easiest thing is to check parts list to see if they are the same P/N.

    I did that for you in this case, using: http://www.ronniesmailorder.com/fiche_s ... mfg=Yamaha

    And, yes, they are the same part numbers, although the original PN's were different. The fact that the new parts are the same makes it pretty likely that the originals would interchange as well.
