My ignition wasn't the greatest, and some one also took a screw driver to it recently and I haven't had the opportunity to fix it.

I am able to withdraw the key while it is still in the 'on' position.
I am usually good with not doing this. However the other day I didn't notice and my bike sat with it's lights on for 24 hours about.

Needless to say the battery was dead. 100% dead. Neutral light wouldn't even turn on.

I have it on the charger now and am crossing my fingers. Anyone have an idea what I can expect? Is the battery done for?

I only bought it like maybe a month ago, it would be a bummer to kill it.

You should be fine. Just use a very low amp charger. Low and slow.

you definitely shortened it's lifespan. if it comes back, keep putting the trickle charger on it for a few days, even if it starts the bike

If it's a water filled battery check the levels. If they are low, don't overfill before charging.

Well Good news is it came back to life.
It was on the charger for like 4 or 5 hours before I went to sleep and it was not done yet. It was done when I awoke up in the morning. So it took a while.

It started the bike fine. But I am taking Polock's advice and will trickle charge it for a few days, the first being last night.

All seems well so far. I will have to wait and see if it caused any damage.
