    Anybody have the torque specs for the head bolts, 82 XJ650RJ? Many thanks in advance!!

    23.1 Foot Pounds -- Bigs
    14.5 Foot Pounds -- Smalls

    Although the book does not mention it ... it's a good idea to do the Bigs incrementally on lightly lubed threads. 10, 16, 20 - 23.1

    A manual and/or the XJCD would be a good investment too.
    Tells you all the Torque settings and the way to set valve timing etc.

    I actually have a shop manual (for a Maxim 650, which is close) - but - after a move - I cannot locate the darn thing. The XJCD may be my next best bet - but - there are a few boxes left un-touched..
