I did search and did not find any definitive answers. I have an XJ700 1986 with the 14mm shock mounts. I am wondering what 12" to 12/5" shocks you guys have run on your bikes. I am looking for black but will settle for black and chrome. I am looking to sell some sportster 11" black shocks as they will not allow my fender to clear the battery box or seat the way I am building it.

Progressive makes a nice shock that is tailored to your bike. They have a few options, and are a good value.

Thank you for the suggestion. I do like progressive and use them on pretty much all my builds. If nobody else chimes in I will just go that route but hopefully I can find something less expensive and different. I can't wait to post pictures of this beast I am building. It is definitely going to catch attention.

If you want to go a little cheaper route you can get shocks from a savage 650. They pop up on ebay pretty cheap, I think I paid like $30 for mine. I set them at the stiffest setting because I was worried about rubbing but havnt had any issues
