Does xj550 seat fit xj750?

    I just recently bought an XJ750 project for a steal i have been working on it for almost two months now and almost have it completed. One thing I realized is that the seat is a little different from what i have seen on other xj750s. The seat on the bottom is written with sharpie saying its a xj750 seat but i think its more of an xj550 seat. In theory, for now until i buy an xj750 seat, would a 550 seat fit my bike?

    The attached picture shows what the bike looked like when i first got it. Looks totally different now. But notice the seat.... besides it not being mounted fully in the picture. Its just placed on top loosely.

    There's 2 XJ 750's (actually there's 6)
    You have XJ750RH , the SECA . . . the seat may be from XJ750H - the Maxim.

    I bought a perfect condition SECA seat for $50.00 off E-Bay.
    You should post in the Buy-Sell section here.

    The 550 seat will NOT bolt-up or fit perfect, but if it's free, you could mess around with it.

    What you have in yor picture appears to be a seat for an XJ750 Midnight Maxim. As TIMEtoRIDE mentioned, the correct seat for your bike pops up on E-Bay regularly. If you get lucky you might score yourself a used Corbin for the same money as a used stock seat. Redone seats also come up for auction for decent asking proces.
