:D Since my XJ650 is still giving me carburetor trouble (I'm going to have to take it to a shop and have it professionally tuned) and since I really want to ride (especially to commute to work) I decided to buy a new bike. I'm getting a 2012 FJR1300. Love the look and feel and can't wait to take it home today.

Oh golly. That's one heck of a commuter bike.

Just sell the Max. You won't find a shop capable, and once you start riding that luxo-rocket it's just gonna sit in the corner of the garage anyway. Nice choice (not all that economical, but comfortable, capable and fast. Be careful!)

I suspect the dealer will be servicing the FJR?

145 HP with a speedo that goes to 180. Looking to get one next spring so my better half and I can do some traveling. She's not very comfortable about riding the 700.

Yeah, I'll be having them service it. Also getting a 5 year coverage for the tires and wheels. They were supposed to add a lifetime on the battery but I think they missed that. I need to go back in couple weeks to pay for the tire coverage, hope they can add the battery deal I wanted. Bike was $13800 out the door. Even though it is a 2012 it had no mileage on it as it sat in the showroom the whole time.

What does the wheel and tire coverage cover, if I may ask? I understand the road hazard similar to a cars tires, but do they actually cover damage to your rims? If so, that's freaking nuts, get that coverage and start riding over every railroad track and construction zone you can find!
Although, if you have the same set of tires on a 145hp bike for 5 years, you are not riding enough.

It doesn't cover normal wear-n-tear but any road hazard type damage the tires or wheels will either be repaired or replaced. And since the area where I work my day job is in an industrial sector with shitty roads and lots of tracks I'll be happy to get the extra coverage.
