Re: will backrest for seca fit a maxim

Both Secas and Maxims came in many different "flavors" from the 400s through the 750s.

Specifically what Seca and what Maxim and can you provide a pic?

Totally different type of seats , frames, angles, mounting points, etc.... You gonna spend more time and energy in making custom mounts/ or buying hardware to Jerry-rig something---

    Darn :(

I am trying to come up with something better then bungie net for carrying stuff

Went so far as to buy some saddle bags at garage sale .. But they don't seem to fit
either. .. Too big ? Gonna have to play with it some more... I may have to get someone to weld something for me ... Can't seem to find anything that's fits

The pics shown are for a bungee-mounted bag, and the bike shown is 750 Seca. You won't get a backrest out of that bag, and keep in mind that while the 750 Seca and the 650 maxim both have a grab bar that could even be drilled to make mounting points, the 650 Seca doesn't have a grab bar to begin with so you don't have that option.

I'll try to play around with a couple aftermarket backrest/package tray pieces that I have here (from a 650 maxim) and see if I can come up with a viable solution .... Give me a couple days to dig everything out and experiment....

    Pm me too......

Ok..... I have backrest from a 650 maxim that I just fit onto a 650 Seca..... So it can be reverse engineered.......

However.... Since mine is already from a 650 maxim, there's no problem:)

Pm me and we'll trade email addresses.
