swap gas tanks form a 650 to a 750?

    i have an 82 xj750 that i'm going to restore/fix up and i really prefer the look of the 650 gas tank and gauges more than the 750 style. has anyone swapped gas tanks between these two bikes? are the mounts the same, or at least close enough to make it work?

    Maxim's or Seca's? Very different tanks.

    Most of the Maxim folks (myself included) want the 750 tank, as it holds 6 more litres of fuel than the 650's tank (19L vs 13L). For the Maxim's, the mounts for the tank are identical.

    If that's really what you want, and your bike is red, let me be the first to say I'll swap with ya!

    anyone? i have been searching for a while and have found nothing at all about gas tank compatibility. if anyone knwos anything about swapping seca tanks (putting a 650 seca tank on a 750 seca) please throw in your 2 cents....
