XJR has been around for close to 20 years now. Never offered for sale in either North or South America.

I know of a fella in Ireland who runs a shipping company - what if you snuck one in and used the VIN ##'s from a FJ1200 ??

You might get to visit the inside of a federal penitentiary. There's no way that you'd get the bike past the import impound without the paperwork matching the stamped vin on the bike anyway. My daughter does import/export paperwork for one of the big shipping companies; we've had that discussion.

I did read a very uncomfirmed rumor that the new 1300 might make its way to the U.S.. I doubt that it happens, but then I never thought the SR400 would come this way either.

I really like the '05. That was the last year for symmetrical, dual mufflers. They've been a 4-1 ever since; and the only 4-1 I ever liked was the CBR400F.

There's at least ONE here - used as a track bike. I saw a video on "Youtube" showing the bike.

Is there something about the XJR that doesn't meet DOT or EPA standards??
    What's the big hold-up??

The thing is de-tuned to 120 HP anyway.

Was trying to find the "track bike" and found - -

    The XJR song !!

    A catchy little tune.

Can't be. The XJR1200 engine is exactly the same as the FJ1200 engine, and the FJ was sold in US from 1986 to 1993. The 1300 is more or less the FJR engine.

Probably the idea that the US market isn't interested in standard bikes.

Exactly that. Which means that DOT certification was never done for the bike (there are differences other than emissions requirements between U.S. and EU regulations). Which means there is no certificate of compliance available so they can be imported. Which means that we are all sad.

It might still come here. Any official word on that probably won't come until Feburary/March (as was the case with the CB1100, and the SR400).

Honestly I don't care if it has 2 Mufflers
after sitting on the CB1100 this past Summer
it is almost a no brainer for Yamaha
and if not, I would buy a CB1100 it felt great and looks amazing
I love the old feeling with new tech
or of course I will buy the Triumph America and get 69mpg

also the black is so sexy!
