Anyone have a good photo and/or diagram for routing the wires beneath the saddle? Unfortunately when I got my bike most of the wiring was loose, and for now it is all just stuffed in around the air box and battery tray. I'd like to know what it is supposed to look like.
    Thanks.

Unfortunately, the wiring and connectors are just stuffed in around the air box and battery tray on these bikes.

I wish Yamaha designed the harness and connections it a bit tidier myself.

So once I got home, I managed to stuff everything into a reasonable location that allows everything to kind of close up. Only issue I have is I have five wires that I cannot figure out a home for. All of them are bundled together, and they go to the oil pan. I guess what I am saying, is there is no matching end beneath the saddle. Does this actually route to the gauge cluster?

I have a service manual, but I haven't bothered to open it up and check the wiring diagram because if I did that, what would I need this forum for?
    Thanks for looking.

You're right, the forums are here so we can help each other out. But it sounds like you're just being a bit lazy. Did you take the wrapper off the manual yet? It does come in handy at times and will save you time in waiting for a response from one of us.

Well, besides that, I suppose I can give you the answers you're looking for even if you haven't done that by now.

There's a connection port on the ignition control box that the grey, orange and black connector goes into. That's the input from the ignition pickup coming from the left side of the engine.

The black/red wire is the signal wire from the oil level sensor. You should find a corresponding female connector with the same color wire near the main harness ignition box connector.

The blue wire is the signal wire from the neutral switch. Connect that to the baby blue wire with the female end. Don't ask me why it's a different shade of blue 'cause I haven't figured that out yet.

Awesome, thanks. Yeah it looks like everything kind of stays to the left side, behind the TCI panel. And for the record I have been perusing the wiring diagrams in my manual, I merely posted my question prior to doing so. Sheesh some people...
