Hello from UK... my carburettors are truly knackered and need replacing. However I am having difficulties sourcing a used set. Is there say another set of carbs that will fit onto my engine? my engine number starts with 58L I'm not sure of the year as it sits in a 1956 Trike. Just wondering if a set of XJ650s will fit or even a set of divi ones?

    Any help appreciated.

click on the "xj4Ever" banner on the top right of the screen and ask Len Chacal. He'll tell you what will work, or what he has available.

Its a shame really, that he will only tell him one or the other, but not both.

CDS1984 is correct. The BS35 and BS36 carbs are ALMOST identical, but differ in their throat size (that's what the "35" and "36" refer to, after all) and their internal jetting and needles, etc. They will physically interchange with each other, but I'm not sure how well they would perform.....probably not well at all. The 900 Diversion carbs? I'm not familiar with them, so I cannot give any guidance.

I put the BS36 carbs (from a fj1100) onto my 33F with the jets from the BS35 in it... didn't work out, lots and lots of flooding and fouled plugs!
Put the BS35s back in with the same jets and I'm still riding it!
Makes MUCHO difference thats for sure.
