Okay so I recently picked up a maxim 750. I just wanted to know what people have been doing in terms of a handle bar swap. I still have the dorky two piece bars and I was wondering about how to install regular clamps for 1" bars

There have been a lot of threads on this topic, I think the consensus is to change the top triple clamp to one with risers.

What I find amusing, is that so many people want to Bob their bike to "personalize" and make it "unique"..... Yet to my eye they end up all looking pretty much alike----- and they've been all cut up, as well.

Of course the ones that are restored all look pretty much alike, too.... But that's how they came.

i think you can use risers on that bike, real easy to get if you go with 7/8 bars

All you need is a set of risers and whatever bars you want. Just keep in mind, you'll have to change out your controls if you go with 1 inch bars.

I took your advice and got those clamps. I think they were like 21 after shipping. I'm actually only going to keep them as spares. I noticed that every bobbed xj kinda looks the same. I'm gonna leave the originals as long as the height works out (I live in New York and I don't how low the seat will end up being).
