This is a question for owners of a bike with the original rear fender that is not chopped off. Is there a
hole in the center of the fender just under the license plate?

if you are talking about one that is around the bottom of the license plate? yup, but mine has a rubber bumper in it, probably intended to carry the european license plate.

I just got the fender from my local motorcycle salvage yard it had a hole in it with a mud flap attached to it. I don't know if this was original to the bike. I guess I'm looking for a bumper. Thanks for the help.

I have never seen a mudflap attached to a 550 Seca fender. That little hole should have had a bullet shaped rubber bumper in it to keep the bottom of the license plate from vibrating.

I think the PO of the fender removed the bumper and used the hole for mount for a mud flap . I guess he wanted extra protection when off roading . The iner fender had a lot of dirt on it. But I'm still looking for a rubber bumper. I will post a picture later.
