    Hey guys,
I am starting on a brat/cafe/tracker style modification for my 81 550 Seca, does anyone know the largest size tyres that will fit these rims? Also should I have the rims powder coated or will paint work be durable enough?

I put this shinko tire on my wife's 81 xj550 and it rubs the chain guard, 120/90-18 Shinko 712 Rear Tire-87-4151

but if you have removed the chain guard then you have nothing to worry about.

Except for the chain rubbing against your heels

absolutely impossible for the rider. but if you carry a passenger, you would have to warn them of the danger.

Is someone trying to imply that bell-bottoms are out of fashion?

I have run a 130 on my bike in the past. The chain guard will need to be removed. It left about 1/4 inch clearance on each side.
