Alright, finally got my valves all adjusted. cleaned carbs, all new jets. good jets, not china. fired it up, runs great, very smooth through the gears. Problem is, it hangs up in the revs. I screwed the idle screws in to 1.5 turns out and it seemed to help a little but still hangs. I read people saying the buttery fly rod seals, but wouldn't they always leak even at idle? Did the propane test and no difference. slides seem to be moving freely. need HELP!

The butterfly seals may only leak when the throttle shaft is rotated open, so that is a possibility.

Hanging revs is typically caused by an out-of-synch condition. If you did not doing a vacuum (running) synch on the engine, I would start there, especially since you adjusted the valves, which WILL throw the engine synch off. Out-of-synch engines "fight themselves" and a runaway idle is one of the symptoms........

Well, I have never vacuum synched carbs before. I don't have the tool for that. Any body know where to get the tool I need? Hopefully not to expensive.
