    Front brakes. 1980 xj650 maxim

Are the xj650 brakes compatible / interchangeable with any other brakes? Any success stores?

Are the brake pads supposed to wear at a weird angle? I am pretty sure that they're not.. but I haven't ever seen this with single piston calipers.

I have a rounded off bolt that holds that holds the pads in place. Rusted and rounded from PO I assume. What is this bolt called so I can order a replacement.

Some of the XS1100 Special and Midnight Special models used the same caliper/pads as the XJ650 Maxim. There may be other models that use them, too, but that is the only ones I am certain about.

Yes, it's due to the fact that the caliper pivots behind the centerline of the rotor, rather than in-and-out like a traditional caliper does.

No, as long as it still fits nice and tight then it's okay.

Wait.. so I read about it.. These are round headed pins, I wonder if someone the PO put the wrong pin in. Any idea how to remove a round headed pin?

Nevermind, I'm an idiot. You hammer it out.. For some dumb reason I thought the pin had threads because it was super tight in the hole... turns out it was just rusted.

Been looking at replacing my front rotor and see EBC has replacements. Saw a post on here that said their rotors are below the minimum thickness? So are they viable replacements or not?
