Its a belly pan to keep one from dumping oil on a racetrack.

You sure about that? Looks like it's an airdam to make airflow more efficient and streamlined underneath to go around the rear tire. I don't see any indication that the back is sealed off.....in that case any oil would just dribble right out the back--and spray over the rear tire......oh that would be slippery when racing! I'd think any bike that has any indication that it may be leaking oil would immediately be pulled from racing that day.....

The aero-impact is a happy bonus, but most tracks I've been to require catch pans beneath the engine in the event of an unanticipated leak due to an engine failure. And yes, if a leak is present a tech inspection, no track access for you!
But seeing as we don't have any better photos, we can only guess exactly what that piece is doing other than hanging out in the wind.

Where's your imagination? ;) When I see race bikes sitting there I cant help but imagine seeing it ripping down a track, shredding through hairpin curves!! Some bikes just look fast!

This may get me shot, but... I think the fairing on those things looks silly. Looks kinda like a chipmunk with turn signals stuffed in it's cheeks. Sorry guys, it's just my opinion! Maybe I'm just a perv, but I like my bikes naked! lol

I've been holding that one in for weeks!
