Re: 1982 seca turbo XJ650LJ pre- e-Bay sale

You should have listed it more specifically:

    "Yamaha Turbo 650"

It wouldn't still be an auction. Somebody would have snagged it "Buy it Now"

I predict it goes "Buy it Now"
Just as soon as the surfers find it and the word gets around!

Re: 1982 seca turbo XJ650LJ e-Bay sale over

Timing is everything I guess. I bought a really nice '82 with 22K on the clock on eBay a few months ago for $1087. I've seen them go for more and for less.

Re: 1982 seca turbo XJ650LJ back on e-Bay

you can say that again, was goingt to relist but someone beat me to it with a nice lower mileage one,so ill wait it out and maybe try again but after his low pricing it will be hard to compete against that, dont know why they didnt ask much more with those low miles, ceratainly worth it ,just makes it harder i think for future sellers to command higher prices

Re: 1982 seca turbo XJ650LJ back on e-Bay

TurboBob (Glad it's not Sideshow Bob :^)

That is one of the coolest looking examples of factory motorcycle art yet to be seen. It is damn close to being Smithsonian! or at least Warholian.
So what does the Turbo designation do to your ins rates?
BTW, I'm not really convinced it's timing on ebay so much as location. You'll see some bikes go for way more than you thought and others just bog down. I have no back up data but presume its locals who can come see bike who really jack the price.
Good luck with it. I'd buy it myself but then I"d have to get a new outfit :^)

I'd say the bike didn't owe you anything if you rode it for 22 years with only minor repairs LOL!!

Glad to hear you got what you were asking... around my neck of the woods everyone wants something for nothing!!

I've had a few people come right-up and ask me:

"How much you want for that bike; right now?"

    I tell 'em ...

"If you have to ask; you can't afford it!"

Your factoring in intrensic value aren't you Rick? Sends the price right off the charts!
