2 XJ550's in Brunswick craigslist

I looked at these several months ago and he offered them to me or $600 for both. The bike that is supposed to be running appears complete, but rough. The parts bike seems to be mostly there, but he had the engine apart at the time. He's a young guy that attended motorcycle mechanic's school in Jax and thought he would restore these. He has other bikes he rides and these are stored under a shelter.

Don't really need any more bikes, but I guess it could be something someone could restore or even part out.

What do you think?

I happen to have a spare 550rj tank, but I am not willing to let it go for obvious reasons.

Shes a skinny bitch with a chip on her tooth.

This is my first bike. I just ride it a few miles everyday to and from work. Good for a cafe project if you are into that or if you just want to fix up a used bike and proceed to flog around the city on it. Lots of power and speed but not so much that you will wheely to hard and explode for no apparent reason.

Needs

-fork seals
-new top cap for forks. (last owner turned them into air shocks and then put oil in it. So the tops cracked)
-tach/speedo cables. (worn down and snapped around a month ago.)
-exhaust bolts. (one broke off in the head and now that clamping collar is loose.)
-kickstand. (I use a steel rod and the crash cage.)
-seat refurbish (its old and needs some love)
-tail light. (current one is just taped on.)

Comes with

-repair manual
-rickman tank off of and old dirtbike. Supposedly its collectable.
-sense of badassery

I dont have the tools or time to fix her up and want to pass her on to someone who does.
Edit: Good tires but on old rims. The metal is porous hence it leaks slowly. The solution is to throw a tube in there."

note, the maxim guage cluster and the lack of turn signals. better warm up on your hand signals.
