I'm alsmot there!!! This bike has been sitting for a while and I've replaced all the fluids changed the breaks bought a colortune and pro sync, changed the plugs and air filter ect. It's really running we'll now but it still bogs down when I give it gas untill it ht about 3k then it takes off like a rocket. Any idea why it would be like this? I thought maybe rich but i tuned it via colortune so I highly doubt that's it. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Came home to try and start it up today, BARELY got it to run. Would just barely sputter with full choke and full throttle... It was idling really strong yesterday and now this. I didn't adjust anything or change anything and it seems it completely lost it's tune. I got it to idle and the #1 cylinder would idle rich with the idle mixture screw turned all the way in! What is going on here?!

Did you clean the carbs? Church clean? How were the fuel levels? Carb slides clinking?

Yea I followed the entire "church of clean" thread down to a tee. Replaced all rubber and wet set all floats to exactly 3mm from the top of the bowl. Carbs passed the clink test with no issues. I think I'll pull them off again tomorrow but I just don't know it's actually so strange. The oil on the plug worries me I have know idea how it got there. Do these bikes have valve stem seals? They must.

If by "idle mixture screw" you mean the pilot screw is fully seated, then I agree with K-moe that perhaps the enrichment plunger is not seating. Pay special attention to the plunger tip and the seat to make sure they aren't damaged. Also make sure the o-ring and washer are installed correctly and that the o-ring isn't damaged. By the way, how are you determining that #1 is idling rich--colortune plug I assume.

If you think the bogging (not withstanding the #1 issue) is due to richness then once you have the #1 issue worked out you might want to tune the way I finally did. I used the color tune to turn the pilot screws in until I got a lean condition and then out until I just got the blue flame. Then I installed a new set of plugs and rode the bike 20 or so miles and read the plugs and made adjustments as needed. It's much easier to see the change in plug color that way. I would tweak the pilots no more than about the width of a dime each time. Took several "tweakings" but I have really nice looking plugs and a great running bike.

Oh ok I actually did the opposite. I turned them until I got an orange flame (rich) then just backed off until it turned blue. Ill try your way though. And yea maybe the plunger isin't seated correctly. Its a real mystery though as to how I could tune it pretty damn well using the colortune and synpro, drive it around for 30 minutes park it for the night, go out the next day and its a disaster. So strange. and have all different color reads on all four plugs each with their own issue?! its almost comical. Im losing my mind over it.
