I installed the replacement fuse panel from Len on my 82 xj1100. I thought I was moving the 30 amp aux inside the new box. I connected the battery and the 30 amp inside the new box blew. Turns out I've run the main inline fuse straight to ground by wiring in the aux. If I leave the blown fuse out, everything seems to work fine. I'm cornfused, what was that aux fuse for on the old panel? Any insights especially from someone who's done the mod would be great. Thanks!

The aux fuse should be a 10A and the main fuse a 30A.
The aux box is for if you want to attach something like a radio, a cigarette lighter or an inflator or whatever you fancy really, and isn't needed to make to bike run anyway.
The 30A main fuse under the seat is needed though.
All the other fuses in the fusebox should be 20A and a 10A, if I remember correctly.

Thanks so much for responding. That clears that up and Len was able to help with the install. That's why this forum is the best!
