I've replaced the choke cable but I may have missed something in the routing because it seems I have too much wire. Weird thing is that it seems there's too much wire for the sheath, if that makes any sense. I thought the routing was pretty simple but.....
Bike is an 82 xj1100 and any help, pics, diagrams would be greatly appreciated.

Where did you get your cable from?
Lay it next to your old one and see if they are the same length.

On my XJ650 Maxim when I put my new cable on from XJ4Ever, I found that if I seat the cable's crimped end fully at the carb pinch bracket that the end on the handle bar would sometimes fall out. Backed it out of the carb pinch bracket about 3/16" and everything is good.

I got mine from Len too and yep, I didn't have it properly placed in the pinch bracket. Once I did everything fell right into place. Thanks!
