I have no other knowledge of this bike other than the ad. I just didn't want it to go to waste if someone wanted, needed it. I have enough projects in process. I suppose I could bring it to Upstate NY next month should someone there be interested....

I got some pictures and it seems alright but without a title, it's a parts bike

That depends on what state you want to title it in, but don't let the seller know that.

I bet that NC will accept a Vermont registration though. ;)
(Vermont is a non-title state that does not require that the owner live in Vermont to register a vehicle there).

'85 Maxim, as in 1985. There are no 2005 Maxims, or 1995 Maxims, or 1975 Maxims.

I checked into a getting title from Vermont a few months ago, they will only go back 15 years, nothing older. At least that is what I read on-line. Just saying..... And even if it did have a title NC requires the transfer to be notarized.

I believe it is more along the lines of getting a registration from Vermont using a bill of sale, then getting a title from NC with the new Vermont registration (as k-moe said.) Haven't done it myself, but have seen a few friends do it successfully.
