Anyone know what the part number is for a new tach cable for my 82 650 Seca U.S. model?

I bought a motion-pro 05-0010 but the threads where it mates to the engine are female instead of male.

    Thanks

4k0-83560-0000 same as euro model unless someone swapped engine or head or your missing threaded part that cable attaches to item 5 in pic. Did you toss it out with old cable If that is missing the shaft seal may be missing as well.(item 4) Oem cable should be female both ends item 4 still available item 5 not but the part originates from the xs650 twin so very easy to find

In Canada we got both engine types early one mechanical tach later ones electronic tach. I got a new one in fall of 1981( so long ago) from early batch we got only silver bikes non YICS

Toomanybikes is correct, the tacho cable should have a female end at the engine, there is a male threaded piece that fits into the tach drive housing that must be missing (check the end of your old cable if you still have it!).

Oops I feel like an idiot. The short male threaded piece came out with the cable when I took the old cable off, and it never occurred to me that it was separate from the cable.

On a side note, when I got the bike the cable housing was in place, and looked fine, but the drive cable was missing.

Thanks everyone for the help! I've been really busy lately
