They say, when its too good to be true it probably is but I had to ask. Has anyone tried the The Bat-Pac Battery Eliminator? Would be nice not to have to worry about batteries dyin when they sit. Here is a link to one on ebay. The price isnt bad IF it works. Any comments or thoughts?

First point I got was that it will cost you your electric start. Most of the bikes he tested this on are dirt bikes with a kick starter. Might be nice for race applications but other than that, not desirable for my needs.

    . If it uses a
brush type generator/alternator to power the ignition then the Bat-Pac won't work.
The reason for this is because the permanent magnets can induct enough current
in the stator coils to start the engine, whereas brush type charging systems require
a current source with several amps of current capacity to magnetize the windings of the rotor,
and the primary windings of the ignition coils.

So I don't think it will work.
